I plan on updating the aftermath of my time at elsewhere very soon. for nor I have some images from the Psychoanalysis room.
and then another showing a little more of the room. I was really happy with these shots of the room. Steph just makes it look good ;)
And finally I thought I would repost the image of what's behind the door. , just so you don't forget what the Psychoanalysis bug looks like...
Thinking through a thought. I'm creating objects out of other objects. Cataloging not through original function, but how it can take on a new function, as part of a new context. I think I like this idea that the new object is a means of cataloging in itself, and that this new object can now be placed into the larger context of elsewhere. A system of constant deconstruction that leads to new constructions. New contexts replacing old contexts.
hmmm, This is of course a bit of an oversimplification but I'll return to this later to flesh it out.
but while you wait for that walking tour i promised a few posts back you can look at some of the pieces I've recently finished.
First image is the hive (which is now complete, just not in this picture)
It is said that in chaos one can see innumerable patterns and systems of order that only appear upon closer inspection.
I would offer my own definition of chaos.
Chaos: the state of not being able to assimilate, or process, enough information to understand a given environment or phenomena due to an excess of pattern and order.
The implication being that chaos only occurs in the mind and is not in point of fact a phenomena separate from the human condition.
That being said, Elsewhere can be an overwhelming place. There are an incalculable number of systems and patterns to digest. Trying to understand this environment from the outside in is an impossible task. Understanding of this place will never be attained through the acquisition of knowledge, but instead can only be had by the emersion of our consciousness into the very fabric of its systems. It is only by becoming participants in the enviornment that we begin to successfully navigate the perceived chaos of this unique and amazing space called Elsewhere.
Looks like a psychoanalysis room that will, uh, increase your "patients" psychoses or make them think of sex. Way to... read more
